Configuring Views

 Seeing how Project changes Work, Duration, or other values when other data is edited is important if you are to understand what Project is doing. One of the best ways to see these kinds of changes is to have a split view with the Gantt chart view in the upper window and the Task Usage view in the lower pane. With the Task Usage view, you can see time-scaled data and how it changes.

 To do this, select the Gantt chart view and then click Window | Split to split the screen. Click anywhere in the lower window and then select the Task Usage view from the View bar.

 Now you can see time-scaled data in the lower window for the tasks you have selected in the upper pane. When you change something, such as % Complete, you will now see exactly how this changes data in the lower pane.
